AUTOMATIC DOCUMENT FEEDER AND DOCUMENT READING APPARATUS PROVIDED WITH SAME

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic document feeder which efficiently carries out opening/closing operation as well as securing sufficient work space for maintenance. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The ADF25 has a document feeding path 30 formed in a U shape so that a turning back section 45 is provided. A scanner unit 60 on the ADF side of a reduction optical system for reading a backside is arranged inside the document feeding path 30. A scanner frame 12 for retaining a reading glass 42 in the scanner unit 60 on the ADF side is provided with a curved surface which gradually separates from the document feeding path 30 starting from the reading glass 42 and coming closer to the turning back section 45. A hinge mechanism 46 makes the scanner frame 12 able to be revolved to an exposure position which exposes the reading glass 42 from a use position for reading the document with a roller shaft 41 of a registration roller 39 as a center. The hinge mechanism 46 catches the scanner frame 12 so that the scanner frame 12 is not leaned to the turning back section 45 side in the exposure position. Ž<P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT Ž
