<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resume reproduction function in a device for controlling reproduction of contents read from a recording medium by using a program read from the recording medium. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A content reproducing system 1 includes: a content control unit 23 for controlling reproduction of a BD-J content by executing a BD-J program recorded together with the BD-J content in Blu-ray Disc (R) (BD hereinafter); an external factor obtaining part 31 for obtaining an external factor affecting the execution situation of the BD-J program during the reproduction of the content; an external factor storage part 36 for storing such obtained external factors; an external factor reading part 34 for reading previously stored external factors when starting the reproduction of the BD-J content; and a reproduction position restoring part 33 for reproducing the execution situation of the previously reproduced BD-J program and restoring the reproduction position of the content by providing the read external factor to the content control unit 23.
