PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems wherein a conventionally known container for storing a string wound in a ball with a cutter is not easy to use, a cutter remains exposed even when not in use, which is dangerous, an end of the string drawn after the string is once used is not locked in position, which may cause the string accidentally drawn out, or if the string wound in the ball is rotated within a container, an end of the string may be pulled into the container and may need to be drawn out again. SOLUTION: The container is open at its top and has a storing part for a string wound in a ball. The container is provided with a lid body for uncovering/covering the opening. The lid body has a through-hole through which an end of the string drawn from the string wound in the ball is guided, and a cutting tongue by which the string is locked in position.
