<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-frequency oscillator which can generate high frequency signals containing less phase noise. <P>SOLUTION: When determined by using a frequency discriminator 25 that the frequency f of the RF signal is not within the frequency range set up in an allowable frequency range, the frequency difference Δf is detected between the frequency f of the RF signal and the frequency f<SB>0</SB>of the reference signal, and the frequency difference information showing the frequency difference Δf is outputted to the frequency regulator 27.
