<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continue an appropriate use state as a rod body for a long period of time, by enhancing the connection strength of a rod member and another rod member. <P>SOLUTION: A connection end part 2a of a rod member 1a is formed as a pipe-like part 3, and a connection end part 2b of a rod member 1b is formed as a small diameter fitting part 4 for fitting in the pipe-like part 3 by the required connection length. A fixing base part 7, where a tapered male screw part 6 in a conical shape of which diameter becomes shorter as going toward its tip end arranged with a screw thread 5, is provided at a tip end of the small-diameter fitting part 4. A tapered female screw part 11, of which the inner circumference is a tapered hole surface for fitting with the outer circumference of the tapered male screw part 6 is formed for the fixing base part 7. A thread groove 10 is arranged in the tapered hole surface. A diameter expansion/contraction collar 13, arranged with a slit 12 for expanding and contracting diameter is arranged over the entire length is arranged at a position in a circumferential direction.
