<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a failure of a temperature detection means, even when a detection signal of a fixed value is outputted from the temperature detection means, and to properly continue and carry out steering assist and overheat protection. <P>SOLUTION: A temperature value of a motor driving circuit part 13 fed back from a thermistor SR1 and a temperature detection circuit block 14, etc. and drain voltage of a MOSFET in an anomaly detection circuit normally provided in a FET driving circuit part 12 are detected. A correlation coefficient of the temperature value and an internal temperature of a ECU 1 estimated from the detected drain voltage is calculated.
