<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation part control unit, a version control method, and an image forming apparatus which are easy for a user to install, and can be upgraded through an uncomplicated installation procedure. <P>SOLUTION: The operation part control unit 107 is connected to another subunit configuring an image forming apparatus 101 for providing an operation interface of the image forming apparatus 101 to a user, on which a portable storage medium can be mounted. The operation part control unit includes: a ROM 202 for storing the control program of the operation part control unit 107; a portable storage medium mounting part 213 for mounting a portable storage medium ROM 211; and a DMA controller 212 for reading the control program from the ROM 211, and installing the control program in the operation part control unit 107 by transferring the control program to the ROM 202. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
