<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an unbalance torque compensator which especially requires no control of an urging force for compensation nor the installation of a rotating space of a balance weight. <P>SOLUTION: In an index table, a rotating shaft which supports the table and extends in the direction of intersecting it in a vertical direction is indexed and driven. The index table includes a rotating member fixed to the rotating shaft or supported by a second shaft different from the rotating shaft and rotating by the same amount as that of the rotating shaft through a rotation transmitting mechanism, a support member provided so as to reciprocate in the direction of intersecting the axis of the rotating member, and an urging member of the support member. The rotating member includes an engaging part engaged with the support member at a position biased from the axis of the rotating member. The support member has an engaging surface for receiving first rotating torque applied to the rotating shaft through the engaging part.
