PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a structure wherein physical quantity such as a vibration or the like generated due to derailment can be surely detected, and a value of the above physical quantity can be discriminated from a value of physical quantity generated at the time of normal operation so as to immediately detect the derailment of a railway vehicle. SOLUTION: A part of roller bearings which rotatably support axles of the railway vehicle on a carriage is provided with a vibration sensor for measuring the vibration which is the physical quantity varying according to the state of wheels attached to the axle. An absolute value ¾α-β¾ is calculated which is the difference between the standard vibration value β to be compared and a vibration value α regarding the wheels detected by the vibration sensor at the moment. Subsequently, a determination unit determins that the derailment occurs if the absolute value ¾α-β¾ of the difference is not smaller than a predetermined value γ. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
