PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method are provided to remove an additional power line for supplying initial voltage by adding the second switch circuit between the second node and a data line and supplying the initial voltage to the second node. CONSTITUTION: In a display device and a driving method, a light-emitting area(10) is arranged as a two-dimensional matrix. M scan lines(SCLm) are extended in one direction, and N data lines(DTLn) are extended to another direction. A driver circuit(11) has a write transistor, a device driving transistor, a capacitor, and the first switch circuit(SW1). An emitting device(ELP) emits a light of which luminance is varied according to a driving current outputted from the device driving transistor.
