<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuously variable transmission capable of improving safety. <P>SOLUTION: The continuously variable transmission is provided with a main control means 60 having a feedback control means 61 performing feedback control of a speed ratio change means 5 so that an actual speed ratio is a target speed ratio in accordance with target control quantity based on the target speed ratio and the actual speed ratio, and a forcible upshift control means 62 for performing forcible upshift control for adding prescribed first correction quantity to the target control quantity.
