METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING POLARIZING FILM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polarizing film which has excellent optical characteristics and is broad by suppressing neck-in occurring in uniaxial stretching. SOLUTION: In a stretching apparatus (5), a part of a roll surface of a first stretching roll (21) installed at an upstream side is exposed to atmospheric air and a remaining part is dipped in a solution. A film 11 is held between the first stretching roll (21) and a roll surface (41) of a first nip roll (31) exposed to atmospheric air and then is guided into a solution (15a) while being brought into close contact with the first stretching roll (21). The film 11 is drawn by being held between a second stretching roll (22) and a second nip roll (32) to perform uniaxial stretching by giving it tension. COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
