<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe cable-housing device which can house a probe cable when the probe is not used. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A housing device 1 houses a probe cable 2 of which one end 2a is connected with a probe 3 sending and receiving ultrasound and the other end 2b is connected with an ultrasonograph body. The housing device 1 is equipped with a housing 4 in which a cable-housing chamber 4a housing the probe cable 2 in an approximately U-shape is installed, a sliding member 7 which is slidably installed in the cable-housing chamber 4a, and a suction device 5 which sucks in the cable-housing chamber 4a. The sliding member 7 engages with the lower end of the approximately U-shape of the probe cable 2, and moves in a direction of suction in such a way that one end 2a of the probe cable 2 is drawn into the cable-housing chamber 4a when the suction device 5 sucks in the cable-housing chamber 4a.
