<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a stereophonic output signal using a small number of non-directional microphones. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sound processing apparatus 100A is connected to non-directional sound collecting devices 71 and 72. A first processing unit 10 generates an intermediate signal a2 by adding an input signal SIN1 from the sound collecting device 71 and an input signal SIN2 from the sound collecting device 72. A second processing unit 20 generates an intermediate signal b2 by subtracting the input signal SIN2 from the input signal SIN1. An adding unit 32 generates an output signal SOUT1 of the right channel by adding the intermediate signal a2 and the intermediate signal b2. A subtracting unit 42 generates an output signal SOUT2 of the left channel by subtracting the intermediate signal b2 from the intermediate signal a2. A decision unit 52 decides presence of voice signal by comparing intensities of the intermediate signals a2 and b2.
