<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely provide an auxiliary sound for only a singer even if the relative position of the face of the singer to a microphone changes. Ž<P>SOLUTION: A sound emitting and collecting apparatus 1 comprising sound emitting and collecting units 11 to 13 each having a plurality of sound emitting and collecting elements is installed in such a way that a grip portion 22 of a microphone device 2 is gripped. Specific sound emitting and collecting elements 114, 124, and 134 of the respective sound emitting and collecting units 11 to 13 are set as auxiliary microphones, and other sound emitting and collecting elements are set as auxiliary speakers. A singing sound 910 is picked up by a main microphone 210 of the microphone device 2 and also picked up by the sound emitting and collecting elements 114, 124, and 134. The direction of the mouth is detected based on sound pickup signals thereof and a face range covering ear directions is determined based on the direction of the mouth. The sound emitting and collecting device 1 supplies individual sound emission signals to the sound emitting and collecting elements 111 to 113, 121 to 123, and 131 to 133 to form a sound emission beam having high directivity within the determined face range.
