<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a center device counts two vehicles by respectively recognizing different vehicles and recording them on a passage history in the center device even though only one vehicle actually passes through because two vehicle number readers transmit vehicle information to the center device when the vehicle passes through at a place where imaging areas of the two vehicle number readers overlap each other in a vehicle management system using a plurality of vehicle number readers. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The center device determines whether or not received vehicle data is transmitted from the vehicle number readers whose imaging areas overlap each other, and eliminates the same vehicle data if within a prescribed period of time when the vehicle data is transmitted from the vehicle number readers whose imaging areas overlap each other.
