<p>The system has a compensating device compensating disturbing moments acting on a steering wheel. A recognition device is provided to differentiate between steering wheel sided and road sided stimulations. The compensating device calculates a compensation torque. A superimposing device superimposes a target moment signal on a compensation signal that is output by the compensating device. A drive unit is controlled based on the corrected target moment signal, where the compensation signal corresponds to actual driving situation. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a servo steering system.</p>
