<p>The electromechanical steering system has a steering handle for the input of a desired steering angle. A sensor is provided for receiving a variable which is supplied by the steering handle. A control device (12) is connected downstream of the sensor for the operating actuator. The determination of the desired steering angle is carried out due to the variable received by the sensor and the further working of the determined steering angle is carried out in the control device. The determined steering angle is necessary for positioning the operating actuator. An independent claim is included for a method for processing the sensor signals and controlling a servo-steering system of vehicle.</p>
