PURPOSE: A method for preparing a thermoplastic resin is provided to improve low temperature impact strength and weatherability by continuous bulk polymerization after injecting a silicone-based rubber in a plymerization solution. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing a thermoplastic resin comprises a step of performing continuous bulk polymerization of a mixture using a radical polymerization initiator. The mixture comprises a styrene-based monomer 50~80 wt%, acrylonitrile-based monomer 10~35 wt%, butadiene-based monomer 0~15 wt%, and silicone-based rubber 4~15 wt% represented by chemical formula 1. In chemical formula 1, R1, R2 and R3 may be a hydrogen atom, methyl group, ethyl group, propyl group or phenyl group; and n is degree of polymerization.
