<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To gradually diminish light and put out a lamp in order to make it easier for a driver to adapt to change in brightness of a visual field. <P>SOLUTION: A lamp lighting apparatus detects that the state of a switch for instructing lighting or putting out of the lamp is changed over to a putting out instruction state and controls a supplying means for supplying power supplied from a power source to the lamp so that the power supplied to the lamp is diminished along with the passage of time.
