<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll material of an optical film having high surface smoothness and prevented from being charged during conveyance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the roll material. <P>SOLUTION: The roll material is an optical film wound like a roll, the film comprising at least a cellulose acylate film and an optical anisotropic layer thereon containing a fluorine compound and having an average surface roughness (Ra) of not more than 0.05 μm and the film having a water content of 1.1 to 4.0 mass%. The method for manufacturing a roll material, which is an optical film wound like a roll and comprising at least a base film and an optical anisotropic layer thereon, includes the steps of: forming, on the base film after at least a drying process, the optical anisotropic layer to produce an optical film; wetting the optical film; and subsequently winding up the optical film into a roll. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
