PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound processing device or a sound processing method, capable of effectively providing a sound signal intended by a user while reducing the size and cost thereof, and an electronic appliance provided with the sound processing device. SOLUTION: A sound processing part 7 provided on an imaging device comprises a sound collection environment deciding part 72 which decides whether an input sound signal is collected in air or in water; and an in-water characteristic correction part 73 which performs in-water characteristic correction processing to the input sound signal based on the deciding result of the deciding part 72. A sound signal collected in water is corrected by the in-water characteristic correction part 73, whereby a sound signal to be output can be made close to the sound signal intended by the user.
