PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element for reducing luminance spots. SOLUTION: The organic EL element 1 includes a substrate 2, and a positive electrode 11, a negative electrode 7 having smaller electric resistance than the positive electrode 11, and an organic luminescent layer 6 formed between the positive electrode 11 and the negative electrode 7. Herein, there are provided a luminescent part formed on the substrate 2, an positive electrode terminal 12 formed on the substrate 2 and connected to the positive electrode 11, and a negative electrode terminal 16 formed on the substrate 2 and connected to the negative electrode 7. The surface of the positive electrode terminal 12 connected to the external is an positive electrode connection surface 12a, and the surface of the negative electrode terminal 16 connected to the external is a negative electrode connection surface 16a.
