The child safety seat has a height-adjustable headrest (1) and two protective flanges (4a, 4b). A coupling mechanism goes upwards simultaneously with the flanges during height adjustment of longitudinal support and simultaneously distance of the flanges increases together through parallel shift. The flanges slide downwards during lowering of the longitudinal support downwards and distance of the flanges is reduced through parallel shift. Positive feedback has a positive guide, which ensures the parallel shift over total height adjusting area of the longitudinal support.
