PURPOSE: A crucible holding support and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to manufacture a crucible with small segments by combining a plurality of segments to a circumference direction by fitting an external fitting unit to a body part of the crucible support. CONSTITUTION: A crucible support(15) includes a plurality of graphite segments(13). An external fitting unit(19) combines the graphite segments to the circumference direction. The external fitting unit is comprised of a mesh structure including the strand of carbon fiber. A matrix is filled between carbon fibers of the mesh structure. The mesh structure includes first and second strands.
