PURPOSE: A liquid crystal alignment agent is provided to form a liquid crystal alignment film with excellent heat resistance, to prevent bubbles in coating, and to ensure sufficient film thickness uniformity. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal alignment agent includes at least one polymer selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid and polyimide formed by dehydrating and ring-opening the polyamic acid. The polyamic acid is obtained by reacting tetracarboxylic acid and diamine containing a compound represented by chemical formula 1. In formula 1, R^I and R^II are independently C1-30 alkyl group. The polymer is polyimide and its imidation rate is 30% or more. |
