PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indoor unit of an air conditioner improved in operability in changing an angle of a horizontal wind direction control member, and dispensing with application of lubricant and the like. SOLUTION: This indoor unit of the air conditioner comprises a base member 30 mounted on a supply opening, a plurality of blades 41 rotatable to the base member at one side, and horizontally deflecting the direction of the air supplied from the supply opening, a horizontal wind direction control member 43 to which the other sides of the plurality of blades are respectively rotatably locked, and which is slid to the base member to change the angle of the plurality of blades in interlocking therewith, operation knobs 43a mounted in the downstream direction of the supply opening of the horizontal wind direction control member, and two sets of locking means 61, 62 respectively formed on opposite faces at two places of a back face portion of the operation knob and its upstream side of the base member and the horizontal wind direction control member, in such a state that any one of them is composed of a projecting portion, and the other is an odd-shaped array engaged with the projecting portion for locking the horizontal wind direction control member.
