An information processing method includes the steps of acquiring owner information of an owner of an electronic money medium, in which electronic money represented using electronic data is stored, and acquiring, with an information acquisition unit, verification information of a presenter who presents the electronic money medium when the electronic money medium is presented to an electronic money terminal; comparing the verification information with the owner information, and determining whether the verification information matches the owner information; and performing processing for permitting use of the electronic money medium in the case that the verification information matches the owner information, and performing processing for inhibiting use of the electronic money medium in the case that the verification information does not match the owner information.
