PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor laser measuring apparatus which is used to measure the degree of stability of the output of a laser diode that is being affected by returning light beams in order to solve a problem in which the output of the laser diode becomes instable due to the returning light beams reflected by a recording medium and the recording quality can not be maintained when an optical head having a non-polarized optical system is selected.
SOLUTION: Amplitude values in a write power value generating interval of monitor output obtained by a monitor light receiving element 3 of an optical head is measured by a measuring means 26 with the timing corresponding to the interval in which a write power value of the laser driving signals is generated by signal generating circuits 8 and 9 that generate control signals to control a laser driver 2. Comparison is made between the amplitude values measured by the measuring means 26 and a standard value which is beforehand set so as to correspond to the amplitude values for each prescribed write power value. Based on the comparison, the degree of stability of the light emitting output from a semiconductor laser 1 is decided by a decision means 27.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
