The vehicle chassis (1) has a control device (8) for control of the hoist cylinders (9.1,9.2,10.1,10.2) of a servo unit, which is connected with position sensors for determining position of the chassis (3), front load cross beam (5) and rear chassis cross beam (6). The control device determines an actual condition in dependence of the detected position layers, and produces control signals for the manipulation of the hoist units of the servo unit in dependence of a given specified condition of desired vehicle chassis length and wheel base.
