<p>The invention relates to an apparatus for cooling moulds filled with a partially melted recycled plastics waste and a method for use of such apparatus. The cooling apparatus 200 comprises a plurality of moulds 210a-j, a cooling bath 204, and a mould transfer mechanism 208 to selectively transfer the moulds into and out of the cooling liquid which may be water. The mould transfer mechanism preferably comprises a winch 212 with a grabbing mechanism 213 on an overhead rail 214 that stretches above the cooling apparatus and is capable of attaching to the moulds. The apparatus preferably comprises a mould filling region 202, and a mould emptying region 206, wherein the mould filling region may have a plurality of outlets (304a,b figure 3) having controllable flow rates, and a flow switch (306 figure 3) to switch a flow from one outlet to another outlet.</p> |
