<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a metal oxide microparticles-containing acrylic fiber having excellent antimicrobial, stain-proof, and deodorizing functions, excellent in durability, and retaining fiber characteristics inherent in the acrylic fiber. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The metal oxide microparticles-containing acrylic fiber includes (A) an acrylic copolymer containing at least 50 mass% of acrylonitrile units and (B) a polymer incompatible with the copolymer (A) and soluble to a solvent common to the copolymer A in a mass ratio of (A)/(B) of (95-50)/(5-50), wherein (C) metal oxide microparticles having an average particle size of 10-100 nm and having a photocatalytic function are contained in the polymer (A).
