Red pepper paste containing lotus roots and a preparation method thereof are provided to improve a taste and flavor as well as a making process easy enough to make it at home and to show medicinal components included in the lotus roots. A method for preparing red pepper paste containing lotus roots comprises the following steps of: preparing barley powder; boiling water and cooling to 45-60°C, putting malt powder in the water and standing it as it is for 30-90 minutes, filtering the malt powder water and preparing a liquid portion; mixing the barley powder, flour and the obtained liquid portion; bring the mixture to the boil over high heat up to below the mixture's boiling point and boiling until the mixture dwindles to one third of its original amount over low heat; putting lotus root powder to the mixture and cooling off and adding Meju powder, red pepper powder and salt; and aging them. |
