The machine (1) has a darrieus type rotor provided with a horizontal axle (2), and a set of parabolic blades (3) with aerodynamic or aircraft wing profiles i.e. symmetric biconvex profiles, where the blades are parallel to the axle. The rotor is coupled to a multiplicator (7), and is connected to an alternator (8) for converting mechanical energy of water flow into electrical energy. The axle is cooperated with bearings (5) that are integrated with a floating structure to be moored in operation. The floating structure includes two floats (4) connected to a mooring cable.
