A COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE EXTRACT OF COMPLEX HERBS(IMS) AS AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT FOR PREVENTING AND TREATING ATHEROSCLEROSIS

PURPOSE: A composition containing complex herb extract of Phellodendri Cortex and Atractylodis Rhizoma is provided to ensure activity of migration of cell induced by TNF-α(tumor necrosis factor-alpha) in HASMC then prevent and treat atherosclerosis. CONSTITUTION: A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating atherosclerosis contains complex herb extract of Phellodendri Cortex and Atractylodis Rhizoma as an active ingredient. The weight radio of Phellodendri Cortex and Atractylodis Rhizoma is 1-10:1-20. The extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of 1-4 low alcohol or their solvent. A method for extracting complex herb extract comprises: a step of mixing of Phellodendri Cortex and Atractylodis Rhizoma in dry weight of 1~ 10: 1~10; and a step of extracting the mixture at 15°C-100°C for 24 to 60 hours.
