PURPOSE: A water-gas supply system and method of an internal combustion engine for a generator are provided to ensure stable rotation of the internal combustion engine by selectively supplying water-gas according to the driving state of the internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION: A water-gas supply system and method of an internal combustion engine for a generator comprises a water-gas generating part(110), a pump(120), a fossil fuel tank(130), a solenoid valve(S/V), a high pressure storage tank(140), a pressure controller(150), a generator(160), and a controller(170). The water-gas generating part includes an electrolytic cell for generating water-gas in which hydrogen and oxygen are mixed at the rate of 2:1 by electrolyzing an electrolyte, and a cooling unit. The pump delivers the water-gas generated in the water-gas generating part and exterior air. The fossil fuel tank keeps fossil fuel in a liquid state. The solenoid valve is provided on an exterior air supply line. The high pressure storage tank compresses and stores the water-gas and exterior air. The pressure controller selectively supplies the water-gas from the high pressure storage tank. The generator burns the liquid fuel to be turned into mechanical energy.
