PURPOSE: A permanent magnet actuator is provided to reduce bouncing and abrasion of a contact point of the vacuum interrupter by reducing an operation speed in a contact closing operation of the vacuum interrupter. CONSTITUTION: A closed coil(1) generates the magnetic flux for driving the contact of the vacuum interrupter to a closed position. An opening coil(2) generates the magnetic flux for driving the contact of the vacuum interrupter to the opened position. A laminate core(3) is arranged around the closed coil and the opening coil. The laminate core provides the path of the magnetic flux from the closed coil or opening coil. An armature(5) linearly moves the power for opening and closing the contact of the vacuum interrupter through the inside of the closed coil and the opening coil. A permanent magnet(4) is arranged between the armature and the laminate core to maintain the position of the armature. When the closed coil is excited, an annular conductor(6a,6b) forms an eddy current and reduce the moving speed of the closed position of the vacuum interrupter.
