PURPOSE: A scalable video providing system and a scalable video providing method capable of reproducing the enhanced video by using additional video are provided to maintain reliability about the additional video and reduce data transfer rate in streaming. CONSTITUTION: In case a third scalable video with high scalability is reproduced, a terminal device(100) transmits a request query requesting a second scalable video based on a first scalable video. A contents providing server(200) searches corresponding contents requested based on the request query. The contents providing server provides the second scalable video corresponding to the first scalable video as the terminal device in the searched contents.
