ABSORBING FLUIDS IN A SURGICAL ACCESS DEVICE

PURPOSE: A seal assembly including a seal and an absorber device, a surgical access device using the same, and a method for removing fluid are provided to maintain clean visibility through a lens of the observation mechanism for a surgery procedure. CONSTITUTION: A seal assembly sued for a surgical access device includes a seal(16) having an opening part and an absorber device absorbing fluid from surgical instruments, and combined with the seal. The absorber device is adjacently located on the opening part to contact and absorb the fluid. The absorber device is formed to absorb the fluid separated from the surgical instruments by the seal. The absorber device and the seal are formed in a body.
