PURPOSE: A device for discriminating defects which possible cause errors in a digital system and a method thereof are provided to discriminate defects which could cause errors in the digital system from a computation result by processing a computation whenever a command is executed. CONSTITUTION: A memory value input unit(10) is inputted the memory value of the monitoring target. A bit unit operating unit(30) executes logic sum operation by bit unit or logic multiply operation by bit unit or both of the operations for the inputted memory value. An operation result storage(40) stores the operation result of the operation unit. An operation result display unit(50) displays the stored operation result.
