<p>PURPOSE: An air-conditioner and a control method thereof are provided to make the discharge airflow arrive at a distant area by converting into a remote mode according to the position of a person in a room. CONSTITUTION: An air-conditioner comprises a position sensing means(130), a control means(140), and a driving means. The position sensing means senses the location of a person in a room. The control means controls the opening/closing of at least one discharge hole by converting an operation mode into a remote mode. According to a control signal transmitted from the control means, the driving means performs the air conditioning operation. The position sensing means comprises one or more infrared sensor modules. The discharge hole comprises a left side discharge hole formed at left side of a main body, a right side discharge hole and an upper discharge hole formed at an upper part of the main body.</p> |
