The invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular to methods of chloride sublimation roasting. The invention is aimed at improving the efficiency of oxidized nickel ores processing due to simpler technology and reducing power and fuel consumption. The inventive result is characterized in that the method of oxidized nickel ore processing comprising chloride sublimation roasting of raw material with counter current supply of ore and a mixture of fuel and hydrogen chloride combustion products, separation of resulted nickel and cobalt chlorides with subsequent production of end product, separated nickel and cobalt chlorides are subjected to hydrolysis in a cyclone heat-exchanging apparatus feeding water steam, the process is carried out at least 800°C and at least 20% of the steam concentration, the resulted nickel and cobalt chlorides are discharged as marketable products, wherein the separated hydrogen chloride is directed to the step of chloride sublimation roasting. Besides, the raw material is preheated in the cyclone heat-exchanging apparatus.
