An apparatus for shaping food, e.g. a bean jam wrapping machine, comprising a mechanism performing drive control of the open/close motion of a coating cutter as a cutting device of food material and the up/down motion of the coating cutter and a supporting member by means of one drive motor wherein significant cost reduction is attained by simplifying the control system of the drive motor. The apparatus for shaping food comprising a cutter for cutting a rodlike food material delivered from a nozzle, and a member for supporting a food thus cut from the underside is further provided with a rotating shaft fixed rotatably to the frame of the food shaping apparatus, a drive motor coupled with the rotating shaft and rotary driving the rotating shaft, a drive mechanism coupled with the rotating shaft and moving the supporting member up and down by rotary motion of the rotating shaft, a mechanism coupled with the rotating shaft and opening/closing a plurality of shutter pieces of the cutter by rotary motion of the rotating shaft, and a mechanism coupled with the rotating shaft and moving the cutter open/close mechanism and the cutter up and down by rotary motion of the rotating shaft. |
