<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a load driver which can interrupt an inverter certainly upon occurrence of a fault in the inverter, and to provide its control method. <P>SOLUTION: Upon receiving an overcurrent detection signal OVC from an inverter 14, an HVECU 40 delivers an operation prohibition indication of an AC motor. Upon receiving the operation prohibition indication of an AC motor M1 and the overcurrent detection signal OVC from the inverter 14, an MGECU 30 delivers the operation result of logical sum of these input signals, as a switching control signal STP for stopping the switching operation of the inverter 14, to a CPU 32 and a stop circuit 50. The MGECU 30 interrupts voltage commands Vu*, Vv* and Vw* from the CPU 32 in response to the switching control signal STP. Furthermore, in an IPM 20, the stop circuit 50 activates an interruption signal DWN for designating interruption of the inverter 14 in response to the switching control signal STP, and delivers the activated interruption signal DWN to a drive circuit 26. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT |
