<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for on-board mounting to be connected to a cable side connector, having construction for actualizing stable and reliable ESD countermeasures. <P>SOLUTION: The connector for on-board mounting comprises a housing body into which a plurality of contacts are incorporated and which is formed of an insulating material, a metal lock engaging member having a lock portion for engaging with a locked engaging member of the cable side connector to lock one connector to the other, and provided extending frontward and fixed to the housing body, and a metal outer shell member covering the front side wall of the housing body and having an opening portion through which the lock engaging member extending frontward passes. The opening portion of the outer shell member is provided so that the edge of the outer shell member contacting the opening portion contacts the lock engaging member.
