<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driver condition determination device which easily detects, with a simple configuration, the presence of an obstacle so as not to make determination, under such a situation wherein there are obstacles such as a steering wheel, driver's hands or the like resulting in the photographic image of the driver not being accurately imaged, and which accurately makes the determination of the presence of obstacles with a small arithmetic processing and to suppress an incorrect determination. <P>SOLUTION: The driver condition determination device 100 includes: an image pick-up means 10 that takes the photographic image of the driver; a face image recognizing means 60 that processes, for recognition, the face image of the driver through subjecting the photographic image picked up by the image pick-up means to image processing; and a driver condition determining means 70 that makes a determination on the condition of the driver, based on the results of the processing for recognition of the face image by the face image recognizing means. The driver condition determination device characteristically includes a touch sensor 30 in the center of the top of a steering wheel 20, and when the touch-sensor is turned on, the driver condition determining means is kept free from making a determination on the driver condition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
