<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transfer phone book data from a cellular phone to an in-vehicle handsfree apparatus without allowing a user to be conscious of which function the cellular phone to be connected corresponds to after the user has performed operation for instructing the transfer of the phone book data. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The in-vehicle handsfree apparatus 1 connects an HFP (handsfree profile) with the cellular phone 21, and then connects an SDP (service discovery profile) with the cellular phone 21 being connected with the HFP, thus setting a compliance state to the PBAP (phone book access profile) of the cellular phone 21 as a PBAP compliance flag. Then, when the user performs operation for instructing the transfer of the phone book data, the handsfree apparatus refers to the PBAP compliance flag to thereby select and connect either the PBAP or an OPP (object push profile) with the cellular phone 21.
