<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a testing device, testing method, and crack evolution testing method for performing the crack evolution testing method by a compliance method by enlarging the testing frequency of the test load for loading the fatigue test piece. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The test device imparts a load to the test piece with a prescribed test frequency. At the time for measuring the aperture displacement of the test piece (aperture displacement measuring time) t1 while using a clip gauge, the test frequency is reduced to the aperture displacement measurement frequency (the clip gauge is able to follow to the change of the aperture displacement) for measuring the test force using a load cell, as well as measuring the aperture displacement of the test piece using the clip gauge. When the measurement of the aperture displacement is finished (at the time t2), the testing frequency is returned to the original frequency.
