PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diamond-coated tool having superior chipping resistance and abrasion resistance. SOLUTION: In this diamond-coated tool, the surface of the tool base formed of a WC cemented carbide or a TiCN cermet is coated with diamond film. The diamond film comprises a film structure in which oriented diamond crystal grains of 0.2-1.5 μm in average crystal grain diameter are dispersed at a surface rate of 30-80% in the matrix of non-oriented diamond crystal grains. In at least one of the (110) surface and (111) surface of the crystal grains of the diamond film, the peak is present in an tilt angle area of within the range of 0-10° in a tilt angle frequency distribution graph for the surface of the base to a normal line.
