PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-strength press-formed article of stainless steel, which has a hardened part of 350 HV or more at least in a worked portion, by using a steel sheet material which applies little load to a press die. SOLUTION: The high-strength press-formed article of stainless steel is a press-formed article using a steel sheet as a base material, which has a composition comprising, by mass%, 0.03% or less C, 0.5 to 2% Si, 0.5 to 2% Mn, 6 to 10% Ni, 15 to 18% Cr, 1 to 3.5% Cu, 0.03% or less N, 3% or less Mo as needed, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities, while controlling an Md value expressed by Md=551-462(C+N)-9.2Si-8.1Mn-29(Ni+Cu)-13.7Cr-18.5Mo to 10 to 30, has a portion in which an amount of deformation-induced martensite is 10 vol.% or more and a cross section hardness of a wall center part is 350 HV or more, in a press-worked part, and has an age-precipitated Cu-rich phase dispersed in martensite.
